Here’s a topic guide of things you can pray for during the day.
8 AM ET – For our National and World Leaders
Because You are the source of all wisdom, we ask You to give our leaders Your wisdom as they make life and death decisions during this pandemic. Guide their thoughts and help them to seek the counsel of experts and advisors. (1 Corinthians 1:24; Proverbs 11:14; 15:22)
9 AM ET – For our Local and State Leaders
Because You are the God of Peace and not confusion, we turn to You. Confusion is everywhere from governors to the mayors of smallest towns. Help them to agree, especially within states, on the best ways to help and care for those you have placed in their hands. (1 Corinthians 14:33)
10 AM ET – For our Healthcare Workers
Because You are our Shield and Protector, we ask You to surround all those putting their lives on the line every day to care for those who are ill. Help them to be strong and courageous, to neither become sick with the virus nor to carry it home to loved ones. (Psalm 18:2)
11 AM ET – For our First Responders
Because You are our Strength, we ask You to provide the strength that only You can give for our first responders, many who are working past the point of exhaustion. We ask You to be their ever-present help in these times of danger. (Psalm 18:2; 46:1)
12 PM ET – For those who serve in our Military
Because You are like a mighty warrior, we ask You to protect those who protect us. Help our military to adapt, so that they can stay strong and continue in their duty to stand guard. Don’t let them be defeated by this invisible enemy. (Jeremiah 20:11)
1 PM ET – For the Homeless and Displaced
Because You have been a safe place for the poor and the needy, their shelter from the storm, their shade from the heat, we call to You on behalf of the homeless and displaced. Shelter them from the virus, and prompt others to provide for their needs as best they can. (Isaiah 25:4)
2 PM ET – For those without Jobs
Because You told Peter where to cast his nets, after hours of catching nothing, his nets came up full of fish. We ask You to show the people out of work where to cast their nets. Help them find the resources that are available to sustain them now, and jobs in the future. (Luke 5:4-6)
3 PM ET – For those ill with the Coronavirus
Because of Your great compassion, we ask You to heal those who are ill with the coronavirus. Prevent their passing it on to others. Help their families to be cautious, but not afraid. May those who are ill recover completely and be immune to the virus in the future. (Nehemiah 9:19)
4 PM ET – For those suffering with Anxiety and Mental Health Issues
Because You are the God of all comfort, we ask You to comfort those who are anxious. Isolation, loss of income, fear of the coronavirus may all magnify feelings of anxiety, discouragement, even depression. May You grant them peace of mind. (2 Corinthians 1:3)
5 PM ET – For the Children of our world
Because You have a tender heart toward children, we ask You to protect them. Keep them from abuse in these stressful times, when many parents lash out as they face enormous stress and pressure. Help parents and caregivers to control their emotions and actions. (Luke 18:16; Proverbs 29:11)
6 PM ET – For Families to draw closer together
Because You established families and have made clear how they are supposed to live, enable families in this season of sheltering to become closer than ever. Help them to love one another, support one another, encourage one another, enjoy one another. (Genesis 3:20; 4:1,2; Ephesians 5:22–6:4)
7 PM ET – For those who have no security
Because You love the world, we come on behalf of the people of the world caught up in this pandemic crisis. Those who don’t know You have no security, nothing to cling to. Lead them to the anchor for their souls, the hope and promise of becoming Second through Jesus and living in relationship with You. (John 3:16; Hebrews 6:19)
