Project Manager of I Am Second, Director of Communications of e3 Partners
A successful marketer and communicator, John Humphrey now uses his skills to share the message of being second around the world.
John joined e3 Partners in early 2008 as the project manager of the I am Second campaign and shortly thereafter added the responsibilities of Director of Communications of e3 Partners to his duties.
John, who has a distinguished background in sports marketing and television production, came to e3 Partners after working as an independent producer and project manager, with both his own firm and as a consultant.
From 1996 to 2006, John served as the co-owner and general manager of VisionQuest Communications, a firm specializing in the creation of sports media projects. Among the projects he developed and coordinated were VisionQuest’s video and book projects, coverage of events at the Super Bowl and the reintroduction of the Chip Hilton Sports books to young readers.
John served as Associate Vice President of ProServ Television from 1986 to 1996, during which time he was the point person on Boston Marathon TV negotiations and coverage, and he managed the television syndication activities of the company. At ProServ, he worked directly with its president, Bob Briner, author of influential Christian books such as Roaring Lambs. John also previously worked as the director of promotion and media for the Lorimar Sports Network.
In addition to his work with e3 Partners, John is the co-founder and serves on the board of directors for the Heart of a Champion Foundation, a nonprofit he helped form, which is devoted to building character among America’s youth and adults.
John is a professional communicator who speaks well to all audiences. He holds masters degrees in business administration from the University of Texas at Dallas and sports administration from Ohio University. He has a bachelor’s degree in communications from Wake Forest University.
He is a member of Firewheel Church in Garland, Texas, where he serves as a deacon and a small group leader. He and Kathleen, his wife of 27 years, have two daughters, Jessica and Laura.
